Salford City agree AI tech deal with Accenture
August 20 – Accenture and Salford City have announced a multi-year strategic partnership placing technology, data and artificial intelligence at the centre of the League Two club’s growth plans.
Under the deal, Accenture will help Salford enhance operations, develop digital fan experiences and unlock new commercial opportunities across the men’s and women’s teams and the academy, while supporting the club’s push to grow its international audience. From the 2026/27 season, Accenture also becomes a shirt partner, its branding appearing on the back of the first team, Lionesses and academy shirts.
Accenture’s global client account lead Amy Gnagy said: “Salford City FC has never been afraid to challenge conventions, and that’s exactly what drew us to the club.Together, we’re bringing the power of data, technology and innovation to help unlock new opportunities for growth.”
Janey Whiteside, chief growth officer at Consello, a Salford co-owner, called it “another statement partnership.” She added: “We have bold plans for the growth of this football club, and it’s a privilege to partner with an organisation that shares our ambition.”
This is part of Salford’s commercial transformation since the ownership group led by David Beckham and Gary Neville acquired full control of the club in May 2025, with stated ambitions to build a sustainable, internationally focused business while keeping its local identity.
For Accenture, it extends a growing sports presence that already includes the NFL, WTA and the R&A.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed, but this is a lower league club leaning hard into technology and global reach as the engine of its growth. Ambition, at Salford, is never in short supply.
